If the bottom of the hinge is open, simply insert the pin and tap it upwards to lift the head. If it is not open, insert the fork shaped edge under the pin and hammer to wedge it up. Once the pin is raised, the fork can be used under the head to lift the pin up and out of the hinge. The nickel plated steel
