The present sermon, by John Newton, was preached on the death of his dear friend, Richard Conyers. Conyers [1725 1786], though already ordained, experienced an evangelical conversion in 1756. He lost his ministerial charge and became an itinerant under Selina Countess of Huntingdon. He was friends with George Whitefield and began travelling with him as a co
